Robert Marti

 

Robert is a Colorado State Certified Science Teacher at an alternative high school for at risk students in Castle Rock Colorado and has worked in public schools since 2004.

 

He is also the team leader for building security and crisis emergencies.

 

Prior to teaching, he served 13 years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, as a highly trained tactical law enforcement officer and teacher/trainer.

 

Robert has over 25 years of experience in law enforcement and education and has received numerous awards for his work in both fields.

 

Robert is a subject matter expert in tactics, techniques, and protocols used in crisis incidents and has a diverse training background in school and workplace safety.

 

His presentation: “Who's Responsibility Is It?” will leave attendees with one thought in mind: "Get actively involved in school and workplace safety."

Jeff Kaye

Jeff recently retired as the Director of Public Safety for the Desert Sands Unified School District in La Quinta, CA.

 

He has served 25 years in undercover and tactical operations for law enforcement and was a sergeant for the Reno, NV police department.  Jeff specializes as a law enforcement and school safety liaison, having consulted on numerous recent high profile school tragedies.

 

He researched and authored School Emergency Management – A Practical Approach to Implementation.

 

Jeff currently serves as President, Project Manager, and is the Lead Trainer & Consultant for both School Safety Operations, Inc. and D4Training.

Jeff Coats

 

Jeff has 27 years' law enforcement experience with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  His assignments included Jail Deputy, Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Gang Enforcement Team, Narcotics Detective, and working a Federal Task Force as a Deputized U.S. Marshall.

 

Jeff has served full-time on the LASD SWAT team since 2003 and was selected to join the department’s elite Emergency Services Detail where he continues to work as a team member.

 

Jeff is a certified sniper, a California-licensed Explosive Breacher, a state and federal firearms instructor, and a Force Instructor who holds two gold medals in the light-heavy weight boxing division for the World Police and Fire games.

 

As part of Jeff’s advanced training for the Emergency Services Detail he has become a State and Nationally certified paramedic, a Public Safety Diver, a Technical Rescue Operator on the Department’s Air-5 helicopter, and holds a Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support instructor’s certification.

 

Jeff has trained with Special Forces in the U.S., Israel, Europe, and Canada and has participated as an operator in over 1,000 high risk SWAT operations.  Twice he was awarded his Department’s Medal of Valor for conduct during officer involved shootings.

 

Prior to entering law enforcement, Jeff served seven years as an active duty Marine. He worked several years with the Marine Security Forces, had multiple overseas deployments, and left the service with the rank of Platoon Sergeant.

 

Jeff’s knowledge, skills, and experience make him a valuable instructional asset in the D4 Active Assailant Training Program.
